Choosing the right hot tub size

The number of persons in the catalogue does not indicate how many people can sit comfortably in it. A hot tub „for 6" often has two loungers and four seats and is tight for six adults. We choose according to who will use it most frequently: a couple, a family with children, or weekend visitors.

  • For 2 persons: Compact models around 160 x 200 cm fit on balconies or small terraces; some operate on 230 V.
  • For 4 people: Most popular choice, approx. 200 x 200 cm, one sunbed and three seats.
  • For 6 people: 220 x 230 cm and larger, two loungers, more powerful pumps, always 400 V and delivery by crane.

What matters more than the number of jets

  • Shell and tub insulation: determines winter consumption. A fully foamed tub retains heat; thin insulation only on the shell does not.
  • Thermal cover: Foam cover with wedge and locks. The greatest heat loss occurs at the water surface.
  • Water filtration and treatment: Cartridge filter, ozone, UV or salt system. The better the treatment, the less chemicals and hassle.
  • Pumps: Separate circulation pump for filtration saves energy; massage pumps activate only during use.
  • Seats and loungers: test dry fitting; people's height matters more than photos.

Terrace, garden or balcony

On the terrace, you need to verify the load-bearing capacity of the structure; a filled hot tub with people weighs around two tonnes. In the garden, a concrete slab or paving on compacted gravel and water drainage are sufficient. A balcony can only accommodate a small hot tub and only after a structural assessment. We will review all this during our free survey; details are in the section Installation and electrical work.

Canopy and privacy

A hot tub without a roof is fine in summer, but in autumn you want to sit in it even when it rains. We provide pergolas, gazebos or retractable roofs together with the hot tub so that the equipment remains accessible and the covering does not collect moisture.

What you are asking about

How much does operating an outdoor hot tub cost?

It depends on insulation, the cover and the set temperature. A well-insulated hot tub with a thermal cover maintains its temperature with minimal loss; consumption is mainly affected by winter conditions and how often you open it. We will provide exact figures for your selected model.

Can I have a hot tub on my balcony?

A small two-person model is possible, but only after assessing the balcony's load-bearing capacity and access. For apartment buildings, approval from the building manager or the owners' association (SVJ) is also required.

How often should the water be changed?

Typically three to four times a year depending on usage and water treatment. Between changes, the water is filtered and maintained with chemicals or a salt system.

State how many people will be using it and where you want it installed.

Just a few details are needed. We will contact you within 24 hours to discuss the location and arrange a free survey. No obligation.
